Francisco Reservoir

Francisco Reservoir needs our help!

Unused and neglected for 50 years, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (PUC) is again planning to develop this General Plan designated open space.  Not only would converting this City-owned property into a park be of the greatest long-term benefit to the City, but development would violate numerous City guidelines by blocking sunlight and views from the heavily traveled Hyde Street Cable Car corridor, adjacent parkland and the Larkin Street steps. Given the City’s current and future budgetary problems, private funding is likely the only way to preserve the reservoir as open space.
